Hiatus

I've just looked at the calendar and found that we don't have any gigs until Feb 21st. That's quite some time without working. Maybe we should work on some more material or perhaps get our current material right. If there is anything you would like us to try out or if you would like to offer any more suggestions (the bass will not fit up John's arse) please feel free to pop into the forums. The link is on the top menu and the side menu.

The Station

Just got home from The Station in Redcar. We haven't been there in a while so it was nice to get back there again. We had a cracking night and the crowd were brilliant. Can't wait to get back there again. We only got the gig because I bumped into a guy from there at the supermarket. I must have that kind of face or something. :)

Domains
Written by Salty
Sunday, 20 April 2008

Some loon thinks it was a good idea to buy my .biz domain the instant it needed re-registering. The lucky new owner is nuseek.com. Hey guys, good luck getting your money back from that deal. I don't get anywhere near enough traffic for that to be worth your while.

Strange thing is the domain account was set to auto-renew and they have my credit card details so I don't see why that didn't happen. I know some other customers of this particular company have had the same problem. I am not alone in my anguish. Meh.

Anyway, it was a good job I had this old .org domain hanging around eh? I may get the .net one day... I always wanted a .net domain...

Ooh, on the actual point of this site's existence, we have a gig in Redcar this weekend. A rare event indeed. Hope to see lots of people there but, alas, the smoking ban in pubs is really hitting home with the landlords it seems. It's funny the things you notice when you see the same pubs year after year.

Dr Browns

Best venue in Middlesbrough? It's gotta be Dr Browns. I think that was the best crowd we've played to for ages. I'm looking forward to doing Dr Browns again in the future. We still haven't done Standing In The Rain but I think Nothing Else Matters was better this time. See you at the next one.

Queens Head

We did the Queens Head in Shildon the other night and we were all reminded of what an ace place it is. The crowd in there are excellent. We did a new one which was OK but it'll be better next time, you can blame me for that. I was screwing around with me clean sound and ended up having a bit too much volume on there. We ran out of time so we didn't do the other new one but we'll get that out next time. Check the calendar to see where we are next and hopefully we'll see you there.

Things in general
Written by Salty
Friday, 05 October 2007
Hi everyone.

In the modern days of Facebook, Myspace and all the other web trends, I feel that people are almost missing the point. These things are all well and good but not as intimate as forums and IRC. Some of the people I think of my best friends I have met through forums and IRC over the last 7 years or so.

So with that in mind I would like to offer the use of our forum to any of the local bands. I'd really like to see it being used to its potential. So, like, get it used. And stuff. Please feel free to contact me through the 'contact us' bit of the site if you have any problems.

After the latest issue with spammers and hackers I decided to update the forum. It's working fine and has lots of new features behind it which make my life a little easier. The hyperlink has changed so you probably want to visit it with the link from the homepage of the site (in either menu) and update your bookmark/favourite.

More apologies

Some twunk thought it would be a good idea to change some files on this site and generally piss everyone off. Meh. I have backups of the files and the databases so it was no biggie really. All is back as it should be and some of the files that were writable are now protected. It was a good exercise in file restoration anyway, so thanks a lot you twats.

Apologies

Apologies go out to the masses of people that must have turned up to see us at the Penny Black the other night. There was some kind of incident with the pubs diary and two bands turned up at the same time. I had a lovely 'night in' in the end with Mrs Salty watching some TV shows. With any luck we'll see you at The Swan in Billingham tomorrow night.

A quick update

Wednesday, 28 February 2007

Just a quick update, the Cat & Bagpipes at East Harlsey has changed a bit but it's still a cracking little pub and the place was packed. I likes the place I does.

We had a gig at Dr Brown's in Middlesbrough too and that was a laugh. Again, the place was packed and we had a little problem getting the sound right as it's a funny shaped stage. It's all good fun though, and it was nice to see a few faces (hello Vaughan) which I haven't seen for quite a while.
